Finding a spot

Miss Indy cat climbed up onto my quilt rack today because we had no furniture at the time.  We gave our old furniture away because today, our new furniture arrived today! I am incredibly excited that we finally got new furniture (new couch and new bedroom set).

Baseball is awesome

Thanks to our friend Sarkis, we were able to go to the game.  I love baseball and we have sat in these seats before (watching our financial interests much more closely than in the past) and today was no exception.  This picture is of the celebration and then silence from Kendry Morales' grand slam in the bottom of the 10th inning.  We won, but he broke his ankle in the mob at home plate.  No good...he'll be out, they are saying, for 10-12 weeks.

Pink elephants on parade

My husband bought this for me at Disneyland over a month ago because I got very excited when I saw it.  It's so cute!  I love elephants, I love Dumbo, and I love snowglobes (I have quite the collection).  I finally got around to taking a picture of it this morning.  And look!  There is even a hidden Mickey.

Glass Figurines

These are a couple of my glass figurines.  The little short one on the left is a turtle with a hat (?), the one on the right is an elephant (I love elephants) and the one in the middle is an angel.  The light is so pretty when it sparkles through the glass.

Exercising

Today, we finally got the EA Sports Active.  We also began our workouts today.  It's fun and I am looking forward to exercising with this program.  We both started with the 30-day challenge, so we will see how that goes.  :-)

Comfy bed

This is our bed.  Today was cleaning day and we finally got the bed back together like it is supposed to look.  I am normally very anal when it comes to making my bed; during college I always made my bed, except for finals week.  Lately, I have really slacked off in making it before leaving for work each morning.  I need to get back into the habit.  I love quilts and on the bed there are currently three.  The top one was made for me by my mom's friend for my 15th birthday.  She made it quickly because I had told my mom that I wanted a quilt from her only a week or so before my birthday.  But it is perfect and wonderful.

Joben cat

This is Joben, my brother's kitty cat.  He's cute, just a little crazy.  Hubby and I went down to SD to visit my brother today.  We saw the musical that he is playing in and it was really good.  It was a youth production and they all did a great job.  It was great hanging out with my brother and his girlfriend.

Last sunset

This was our last sunset we saw on the beach in Maui.  Neither of us wanted to leave the next day and so we watched the entire sunset sitting on the beach, wrapped in each others arms.  Our love is never ending, though our 1st anniversary vacation came to a close.

Hiking downhill is easier...

This is when we hiked down to a blowhole.  It was very windy, almost blew over a few times.  Hubby was taking wonderful pictures as well.  Neither of us were ready for the hike, but we did it and it was great.  The views were amazing and gorgeous.

First sunset

This was the first sunset we saw in Maui.  It was taken from our balcony in the hotel;  I just kept taking pictures the entire sunset.  It was also super windy, as evident by the palm trees.  But it was gorgeous.

Behind the trees

I was trying to be somewhat artistic with this picture.   I was shooting out the window while hubby was driving.  I think this shot came out quite nicely.

Waterfall jump

Waterfalls are so amazing.  They are gorgeous, gigantic, majestic.  This was one of the first waterfalls we hiked to on Maui.  The guy at the top of the falls ended up jumping into the pool.  That was an amusing ordeal, as his friends were egging him on and he was nervous about jumping.  The water felt so nice and cool (I had put my feet in the stream).  It was a fun adventure.

Skies so blue!

In honor of Mother's Day, I selected a picture of a gorgeous Hawaiian sky.  My mom loves skies, loves to look at them and loves to look at pictures of them.  I took a bunch of pictures of the skies of Maui while on vacation so that she could have them.  Happy Mother's Day, Ma! :-)

Waterfall hike

This was an amazing waterfall.  We followed the guidebook, Maui Revealed - The Ultimate Guidebook and hiked to this wonderful waterfall during our trip on the road to Hana.  I am so incredibly happy that we did this hike.  Neither of us have done much hiking in recent times, so we were sore the next day, but it was well worth the pain.  We pretty much had the waterfall to ourselves (as opposed to the other, more popular, crowded waterfalls - which were still gorgeous), which was awesome.  The hike was a little hard for us, as we were unprepared for such slippery rocks, but we didn't get too badly hurt.  The water was so cool and refreshing.

Falling waves

I love this picture.  I think I did a nice job of framing the wave and catching it as it fell.  I love the colors of the ocean; so crisp and clear  I could spend all day at a beach taking pictures of the water and waves (which I have done in the past and probably will forever continue to do).  We drove around and stopped at different beaches one of the days we were on Maui, just taking pictures and having fun.

"Just keep swimming..."

That's me.  In the hotel pool, swimming, as my husband took the picture.  I love swimming.  I grew up in a pool, at my aunt's house, my grandmother's condo complex, friends' houses.  Everywhere.  I love being in the water; it is so cool and refreshing.  I need to get back into swimming more, as it is wonderful exercise.  Most pictures on here do not feature me, as I am the one who needs practice on my form of photography, but I thought this picture was fun.

Drawings in the sand

I am a big dork.  We were watching the sunset the last night of Maui when I drew in the sand.  I wanted something interesting for my scrapbooking, so I drew the above picture.  This was our first anniversary trip.  It is unbelievable that it has already been a year (over a year now as I type).  Time has flown so fast.  It seems like only yesterday we went on our first date (which was almost four years ago).  My love for him has grown, and will never stop.

FOREVER!

Picture perfect

This is my wonderful husband taking a picture of the gorgeous surroundings on Maui.  He is very much into photography, which is probably why I want to get better in my photography.  I love him so very much, more than he will ever realize.  Even when problems arise, I know he will always be there for me, as I am for him. I am incredibly lucky to have him as my husband.  My love for him will never stop.  I love you, Cesar!

Pretty flower

During our trip, I took numerous flower pictures.  This is one of my favorites.  The flowers of Hawaii lend themselves so well to pictures.  Also during this trip, I began playing around with my settings, straying away from the automatic setting.  My husband was making fun of me because I kept changing settings and taking a picture of the same waterfall in the hotel.  I was having fun learning about the numbers. Despite not posting every day, I have been taking many more pictures than I have in the past and I finally feel like I am growing in my picture taking abilities.

Gorgeous balcony view

This was the view from our balcony in Maui.  It was beautiful every morning and the sunset at night was heavenly.  My husband did a wonderful job at booking our vacation; he did all the work (it is easier for him) and I couldn't have been happier.

A promise

The next few pictures were taking while we were on vacation in Maui.  This rainbow was the most beautiful, brightest, fattest rainbow I had ever seen in my life.  We were driving back from our day-long trip to Hana and the southeast side of Maui and I took this picture out the window of the car.  I could hardly believe how amazingly beautiful it was.  God sure gave us a wonderful scene on that drive (and another one when we got back to Lahaina).  I am very excited that we saw many rainbows this trip because our first trip to Hawaii last year for our honeymoon was lacking rainbows from the Rainbow State.  Our first anniversary trip was a successful one in catching rainbows.

Elephants on parade

I am a huge dork.  I love elephants and every time I go into a Target bathroom, I see this.  Yes, I took a picture of the changing table in the bathroom.  I think the elephants are so cute!  My husband and I went to Target after dinner today and as I was alone in the bathroom, took a picture on my phone.

Peace be with you

I know I have missed almost a month of pictures.  I feel bad that I haven't kept on this journey as I want.  I am going to get back at this.  I have also started a writing blog (http://writtenbykc.wordpress.com/).  Anyway, back to the picture.  This was our first gift given to us for our anniversary.  My mother gave it to us yesterday and it is very symbolic.  The picture of the peace dove, as my mom told me, represents peace for our marriage.  It is paper (as is the "proper" gift for a 1st anniversary), and not only a pretty picture of a dove, it was also my grandmother's prayer card from her funeral.  Attached to the back of the paper is the Lord's Prayer, which was included in our wedding ceremony.  I was and still am very touched by this gift.  It is incredibly thoughtful and symbolic.

Baking

While reading the newspaper yesterday morning, I came across a recipe that looked very enticing.  I cut it out and needed to try it.  So last night, I made it.  These are called "Peanut Butter Toffee Cheesecake Brownies" and the recipe is from a woman in West Virginia named Pamela Shank.  This is a finalist in the Pillsbury Bake-Off.  Let me tell you, the house smelled wonderful while I was making these.  By the time everything was finished, it was too late to try them.  So today, after going out for a friend's birthday dinner, we all came home to try this dessert.  And oh my, were they wonderful.  I will definitely be saving the recipe in my book for years to come.   I only hope I can improve my form on this wonderful dish.

Sunrise, sunset....

Yesterday, God painted the sky beautiful colors for sunset.  My husband and I were driving to Culver City from his parent's house to meet up for a friend's birthday party just as the sun was setting.  The colors were gorgeous and I grabbed my camera out of my purse to take a picture.  The night was just as wonderful.  Had dinner in Hollywood at Mel's Drive-In and went to the El Capitan Theater to see "Alice in Wonderland," which I really liked.  It's very visual.  It was a fun Saturday night with friends.  :-)

Just another American Saturday Night

Last night, my husband and I went to the Staples Center for the Brad Paisley concert.  It was awesome!  He puts on one of the best shows I have ever been too.  And, his fan club hooks up his fans.  We were in the 15th row from the front, directly next to the end of center stage.  I have never been so close at a concert in my life.  The concert was amazing.  Openers were Justin Moore and Miranda Lambert.  Brad Paisley's music plays a large part in our lives; our first dance was his "She's Everything" and our final dance at our wedding was his "Then".   I cannot wait to see him again! :-)

I honestly love you

These were our toasting flutes for the wedding.  Again, my mom had found them, and they were elegant and simple and so pretty.  We had flower gel stuff that I "plumped" two days before the wedding inside the glass "bucket."  As today would be our dating anniversary, I thought another picture of our wedding things would be nice.  In my husband's words, we have been together 3 & 1/2 years (3 officially), married for 10 months.

Crazy pharmacy

Well, I didn't take this picture, but it's amusing.  All I was trying to do was clock in.  The pharmacist came to get coffee, and the head technician came into the corner as well.  We had tons of boxes because we had to shred old RXs and other materials.  It was a tight fit in the corner.   And it had to be captured.  And posted on the internet.

Hearts and flowers and love

In honor of Valentine's Day, I decided to take a picture of our wedding cake topper.  It's so simple, yet very elegant and perfect for us.  My mom found it in a magazine and ordered it for us, putting our names and the wedding date on the glass.  The part that made it even more special was that she took artist's chalk in blue and colored in the letters.  It was beautiful and simple and elegant.  Unfortunately the blue has mostly rubbed off, because they had to wash off the cake and and we had to transport it back home.

Disneyland drink

My husband is a dork.  I love him with all my heart though, so it doesn't matter.  We went to Disneyland after work and had chili for dinner.  He is "posing" for the camera.  He never takes serious pictures.  We actually didn't go on any rides because it was pretty crowded, but it was a nice date night walking around and people watching.  We left during the fireworks, so we didn't have too many issues leaving.

Thanks Gary.....

This is my boss, Gary.  He had just told me that my camera was upside down (I knew), so I took a fast picture.  I have very interesting days at work because of all my coworkers.  Most days, someone ends up on the ground laughing.   We have our own musical and lots of inside jokes.

2222

The car flipped to this on the way home from Sarkis' house after the Superbowl.  We actually had to drive the long way into the complex to see it flip and then my husband passed me the camera once I could stop.

Warm computer?

While we were getting ready for the day,  my husband left his laptop on the couch.  We came back to see Indy cat had taken over.  She wouldn't move and we grabbed the camera.  She loves technology.

A new printer!

We finally got a new printer.  My husband's wasn't completely broken, but I really wanted to get an all-in-one because I very much wish to scan pictures onto my computer.  I will finally be able to do that.  We went shopping last week at Target and found it.  You have got to love the 10% on 10%.

Grilling

My husband bought a new grill today.  We have needed a new one for just about a year now, because the old one rusted out on us.  It's very exciting to get a grill again because it means my husband will be grilling a lot and that makes me happy.   He was finishing putting it together when I took the picture.  Tomorrow, we will try it out.

Pedicures

I love pedicures.  Thanks to my friend Rachel, who introduced me to them about 7 years ago, I go often enough.  These are my toes after the main part of the pedicure, before the nail polish.  It's very relaxing and rewarding after standing on my feet all week.  This post had to have 2 pictures, a before and after. Here's the after picture:

Sorry this one is hard to see the color, it's bright pink! I took the pictures with my camera phone, so it was harder to get the color.  I know I haven't posted pictures since Monday, but I have been taking pictures.  :-)

Fuzzy wuzzy was a bear

This little creature came out of a claw machine game at the ice rink yesterday.  My husband won it for me; luckily it only took about 5 tries (sometimes those things are so stubborn!).   I love when he gets these silly little stuffed animals for me.  My favorite one is a little elephant.  Whenever he plays the game and wins (and he is very good at it), it always reminds me of when we first started dating and were at D&B and we won some Angels things.  :-)

Smile husband!

This is my husband as he sat at an ice rink where his sister was holding his niece's birthday party.  The girls were skating on the ice while we watched from above.   It was incredibly cold and I didn't feel all the great, otherwise I would've gone out on the ice too, because I love ice skating.  He was goofing around and I finally got a picture of him without his tongue out or a weird face.  Our first picture together was over 3 years ago and his face is very distorted.   I love him so very much, even when he's a big dork.

Cutest kitty cat EVER

This is Bruce W. Bush, my kitty cat, or more so, my parent's cat.  He is the most person-like cat I have ever known.  He love people food, especially cottage cheese and ice cream.  He follows my father everywhere.  He's the cutest kitty ever.  In this picture, he was waiting for some cheese from my husband's hand.  My husband and I are up at my parent's house this weekend to be in town for his niece's birthday.   And this weekend is freezing.

Uploading

This is a picture of my husband's computer.  He is currently uploading music on iTunes.  He didn't use iTunes before meeting me.  I find it slightly amusing.  I love music and it's my haven.   I have all sorts of music on my ipod and am always happy to share it with people when driving or sitting around at home.

Warm blankets

This is our quilt rack.  I love quilts, so nice and warm and we can cuddle in them when it is raining.  The front blanket, the blue and white one, is my husband's baby blanket.  His mother gave it to him last year at some point.  Right now, I am wrapped up in a quilt listening to the rain and thunder and watching for lightening.

Rain drops keep falling on my head!

This is the ground outside our carport.  It has been so rainy and windy the last 3 days that the ground is soaked and leaves are everywhere.  It has been hard for me to get some awesome shots of rain because it has been starting after I get to work and by the time I get off work, it is dark, and hard to take pictures of the rain in the dark.  I love the rain.  We needed it, though it would've been better if we had gotten the rain slightly more spread out rather than theses massive storms all week.

Under the table

This is Toshi cat, my second adoptive kitty cat.  He is an incredibly skiddish cat, though he has gotten a lot better in the last couple of months.  He loves to come up on the bed in the morning and make sure we are up so that we can pet him.  I believe it is the only time he feels completely safe, unless he is under one of the tables.  I call both of these cats my adoptive cats because my husband had them when I met him.

Water, water everywhere

This is my water bottle.  Last summer, my husband and I decided we needed to save some money and part of that was to stop buy bottled water.  We bought a Pur pitcher and reusable water bottles.  Since then, I have gotten just about all of my coworkers to get reusable bottles.  In the same style as mine, we have a green, pink and purple.  Then a different style has in a gray and light blue.  This bottle holds about 24 ounces, and I drink just about 4 of them a day.  This has saved my husband and me a lot of money.

I gave you my music....

This figurine represents one of the most vulnerable moments in "The Phantom of the Opera."  My friend gave this to me at my bridal shower last year.  I love the Phantom; starting with my mother's love for the musical by Andrew Lloyd Weber to the book by Gaston Leroux.  It's such a sad story.

Between the blinds

This picture was taken while I was lying on the floor inside the condo shooting outside through the blinds at the sunset that was occurring.  It was a lovely day, the calm before the massive storms that are scheduled to come into Southern California.  Hopefully in the coming days, I'll take some cool pictures of the rain.  I love the rain.

Frozen yogurt

I love Golden Spoon.  I was first introduced to it when I lived in my apartment during college, as it was only across the street.  Now, it's only across the street from our condo.  This frozen yogurt is a great alternative to more fattening ice creams.   After a long day at work for the last day of the week, my husband and I had a shortened date night, with dinner at Red Robin and a stop at Golden Spoon for dessert and now watching season 7 of "24," gearing up for the new season.  Nice and relaxing for a stressful day.
