Grilling

My husband bought a new grill today.  We have needed a new one for just about a year now, because the old one rusted out on us.  It's very exciting to get a grill again because it means my husband will be grilling a lot and that makes me happy.   He was finishing putting it together when I took the picture.  Tomorrow, we will try it out.

Pedicures

I love pedicures.  Thanks to my friend Rachel, who introduced me to them about 7 years ago, I go often enough.  These are my toes after the main part of the pedicure, before the nail polish.  It's very relaxing and rewarding after standing on my feet all week.  This post had to have 2 pictures, a before and after. Here's the after picture:

Sorry this one is hard to see the color, it's bright pink! I took the pictures with my camera phone, so it was harder to get the color.  I know I haven't posted pictures since Monday, but I have been taking pictures.  :-)

Fuzzy wuzzy was a bear

This little creature came out of a claw machine game at the ice rink yesterday.  My husband won it for me; luckily it only took about 5 tries (sometimes those things are so stubborn!).   I love when he gets these silly little stuffed animals for me.  My favorite one is a little elephant.  Whenever he plays the game and wins (and he is very good at it), it always reminds me of when we first started dating and were at D&B and we won some Angels things.  :-)

Smile husband!

This is my husband as he sat at an ice rink where his sister was holding his niece's birthday party.  The girls were skating on the ice while we watched from above.   It was incredibly cold and I didn't feel all the great, otherwise I would've gone out on the ice too, because I love ice skating.  He was goofing around and I finally got a picture of him without his tongue out or a weird face.  Our first picture together was over 3 years ago and his face is very distorted.   I love him so very much, even when he's a big dork.

Cutest kitty cat EVER

This is Bruce W. Bush, my kitty cat, or more so, my parent's cat.  He is the most person-like cat I have ever known.  He love people food, especially cottage cheese and ice cream.  He follows my father everywhere.  He's the cutest kitty ever.  In this picture, he was waiting for some cheese from my husband's hand.  My husband and I are up at my parent's house this weekend to be in town for his niece's birthday.   And this weekend is freezing.

Uploading

This is a picture of my husband's computer.  He is currently uploading music on iTunes.  He didn't use iTunes before meeting me.  I find it slightly amusing.  I love music and it's my haven.   I have all sorts of music on my ipod and am always happy to share it with people when driving or sitting around at home.

Warm blankets

This is our quilt rack.  I love quilts, so nice and warm and we can cuddle in them when it is raining.  The front blanket, the blue and white one, is my husband's baby blanket.  His mother gave it to him last year at some point.  Right now, I am wrapped up in a quilt listening to the rain and thunder and watching for lightening.

Rain drops keep falling on my head!

This is the ground outside our carport.  It has been so rainy and windy the last 3 days that the ground is soaked and leaves are everywhere.  It has been hard for me to get some awesome shots of rain because it has been starting after I get to work and by the time I get off work, it is dark, and hard to take pictures of the rain in the dark.  I love the rain.  We needed it, though it would've been better if we had gotten the rain slightly more spread out rather than theses massive storms all week.

Under the table

This is Toshi cat, my second adoptive kitty cat.  He is an incredibly skiddish cat, though he has gotten a lot better in the last couple of months.  He loves to come up on the bed in the morning and make sure we are up so that we can pet him.  I believe it is the only time he feels completely safe, unless he is under one of the tables.  I call both of these cats my adoptive cats because my husband had them when I met him.

Water, water everywhere

This is my water bottle.  Last summer, my husband and I decided we needed to save some money and part of that was to stop buy bottled water.  We bought a Pur pitcher and reusable water bottles.  Since then, I have gotten just about all of my coworkers to get reusable bottles.  In the same style as mine, we have a green, pink and purple.  Then a different style has in a gray and light blue.  This bottle holds about 24 ounces, and I drink just about 4 of them a day.  This has saved my husband and me a lot of money.

I gave you my music....

This figurine represents one of the most vulnerable moments in "The Phantom of the Opera."  My friend gave this to me at my bridal shower last year.  I love the Phantom; starting with my mother's love for the musical by Andrew Lloyd Weber to the book by Gaston Leroux.  It's such a sad story.

Between the blinds

This picture was taken while I was lying on the floor inside the condo shooting outside through the blinds at the sunset that was occurring.  It was a lovely day, the calm before the massive storms that are scheduled to come into Southern California.  Hopefully in the coming days, I'll take some cool pictures of the rain.  I love the rain.

Frozen yogurt

I love Golden Spoon.  I was first introduced to it when I lived in my apartment during college, as it was only across the street.  Now, it's only across the street from our condo.  This frozen yogurt is a great alternative to more fattening ice creams.   After a long day at work for the last day of the week, my husband and I had a shortened date night, with dinner at Red Robin and a stop at Golden Spoon for dessert and now watching season 7 of "24," gearing up for the new season.  Nice and relaxing for a stressful day.

Bowling

We went bowling tonight with 3 of our friends after a good dinner of fajitas made by my husband.  There is a bowling alley across the street from our condo and we like to go there, plus Thursdays is cheaper bowling.  I didn't do so great, though I did get a couple of strikes, which makes me happy.  It's always a lot of fun.  It has been a tough week at work, so it was great to get out and bowl for a couple of hours.

Indy cat like Indy car

This is Indi cat, my adopted kitty cat.  Short for Indigo, though I thought it was a different story.  When I first met my husband, I knew little about him but that he liked history, country music and NASCAR.  So, naturally, I thought he named his cat after Indy racing....wasn't the case, but I still like to call her "Indy cat like Indy car."  She's a cute little kitty and she loves me.

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn....

This was my Christmas present from my husband.  I love Gone with the Wind.  I first read the novel for a book report in 8th grade and have read it many, many, many times since.  My copy is very worn.  I took this love from my grandmother, who passed away when I was 15.  2009 was the 70th anniversary of the movie, and when at Target, we saw the special and he said, "You know what you're getting for Christmas."  And then he forgot.  And then he remembered Christmas Eve (but without me telling him). And this is what I opened up on Christmas morning, making me smile.

Palindromes

This happened on my way to work today.  I had to take a picture for my husband, who loves palindromes.  And on today, a Palindrome day: 01-11-10, it was a great day to have a palindrome in the car.  I've had my car since the beginning of December.  I love it.

Philosophy

I love the Philosophy company.  I love the values they put on the bottles, I love the smells, I love the lotions.  I think the first experience my family (my mom and myself) had with Philosophy was the Gingerbread Man smell.  It smells like gingerbread, but it's also a clean smell.  I've had the Cinnamon Buns bottle for at least 3 years.  My husband's favorite (he likes most of them anyway) is the Grapefruit, the Soulmates.  It is a wonderful smell.  And the message on the bottle is one of my favorites:
"You don't need to look for love, you just need to wait, for soulmates always find us, and jut like a left foot needs a right foot, we all need a soulmate, and not unlike having two feet on the ground, it helps to be grounded before they arrive. And yet even if your goods are a little damaged, a true soulmate will always love you just the way you are."

Domino's new pizza

For dinner tonight, we tried the new pizza from Domino's. I loved Domino's to begin with, so I was hoping that it wasn't going to be a disappointment to me.  It was not a disappointment, it was great!  I much prefer to get Domino's over Pizza Hut (in my opinion, Pizza Hut is much too greasy), and am happy with the changes they made.

Toy Story ride

The Toy Story ride at DCA is one of the best rides in the entire park at the moment.  Every chance we get, we try to get on this ride.  Tonight we went to Disneyland after work.  Met two friends for dinner and then got on the ride. My husband was the yellow side, I was the green.  Yes, he beat me, but my accuracy is better. We then waited for the fireworks over in Disneyland, watched them, and left.  It was a very nice night to end the week.

First date night of the new year

Lucille's BBQ -- one of the best restaurants around.  Thanks to one of my wonderful bosses, we got to eat here tonight for our first "date night" of the year.  The food is very good and the service is great (at least at the location we frequent).  It was a nice date night dinner after a long day at work.  Thanks Maureen!

Disneyland book

This lovely little book was given to us for Christmas from our awesome roommate.  As a Disney fan, most people would think I would have everything Disney already.  I did not have this book. It's an awesome little book with wonderful facts, some I know and some I don't.  Disneyland is a safe haven for me.  In college, I used to go and study at the park.  Throughout this year, there will be many pictures from Disneyland, as my husband and I still have season passes and go quite often.

Traffic lights

Traffic. We all hate it, but it's always going to be there.  I normally don't get to carpool with my husband to work, but today we did.  This was on our way home, a sea of red lights.   The picture isn't the best because I'm not used to trying to take a picture in a moving, dark, vehicle.  Plus, I'm only using my little point and shoot camera, so no fancy equipment.  I hope to learn to take better pictures this year.

Books

This is just one shelf of our bookshelf.  The books on this shelf represent me quite well; history, politics, music, and religion.   There is a Spanish textbook in there and I don't know who it belonged to, but I think I accumulated it from a former roommate and it's a good thing so I can learn Spanish to converse with my husbands family.

Sunday brunch

This was our breakfast/brunch this lovely Sunday morning.  Belgian waffles, Paula Deen sausage, scrambled eggs, and Archer Farms maple syrup.  We received the waffle maker for Christmas (Waring Pro) from my parents and the little white bowl came in the dish set from my husband's parents.  I guess today was a first go of our presents. We still have to work on the waffles, since my dad helped when we made waffles for Christmas dinner.

Obsessive?

An obsession? Maybe. But "24" was on sale for $15 at Target ending today, and we need to catch up on Season 7 before Season 8 comes out in a couple weeks. It all started with my mom when the show started, then me a few years later, then trickled to my friends, and finally my boyfriend now husband. :-)  My husband was holding the dvds while on the phone with my mother asking if she wanted season 7.

Clean up, clean up....

Today, the first day of the new year, the new decade, was a cleaning day for my husband and me.  This picture was taken at the beginning of the day, before Christmas went back into the boxes to wait for December.  It was an incredibly productive day with great results of our cleaning.
